Alber Elbaz, the procees of creating for Lanvin

According to Vogue Uk, Alber Elbaz is writing his first book, documenting the entire design and production process involved in creating a Lanvin collection. The tome will feature 700 pages of words, pictures but the first few pages will remain blank.”That is how I start every day,” Elbaz told the Los Angeles Times. Alber Elbaz has explained, with his trademark humour and modesty, how his own appearance influenced his debut book – which pays tribute to the many artisans who help make his collection, from fitters to those who sew the stitches. “The book is small and fat – something I could relate to!” Elbaz told the International Herald Tribune, before adding, “I was searching for a story that people would get when they look at the book – and the story is the process.” Heavily picture-based, 3,000 pictures were taken for the book in a bid to document all elements of how the team works. Each gilded page is narrated with a short quote from Elbaz, with musings such as “It’s not about the front or back of a dress. It’s about what is in-between; the body, the human being; the person.”The book will be available in early spring, priced at €340  (£265). While we wait for the book to come out, let’s take a look at his Spring Summer collection.
