Paris Fashion week and the Fall Winter 2011/12 season closed on a decadent, sensual note with Louis Vuitton show held in the courtyard of the Musee du Louvre. The idea behind the collection was to create a sort of “Vuitton Hotel”, a controversial, dark and opulent place with a black lacquer floor, sensual French maids with feather duster and 4 fully functional elevators flanked by uniformed porters from which models appeared, some handcuffed to their bags (that is feticism!!). The collection focused on an exaggerated femininity, with kinky leather corset-belts around the waist of cashmere coats, rubberized-lace long gowns, hotpants and leather boots. The show ended with Kate Moss strutting the catwalk puffing furiously on a cigarette (the act causing, of course, a lot of criticism and comments especially from British press and, therefore, publicity) with an arrogant, rebel look on her face. Well, for me the most outrageous thing was neither the cigarette nor the clothes, but the fact that, while Kate marked the end of the show, Naomi Campbell walked the runway among the other models and did not make a special entrance…she seemed in a very good mood backstage but I wonder how she really felt about it? Do you think she should have walked out next to Kate, or Marc Jacobs did it on purpose maybe hoping on some extra tension?

La settimana della moda parigina e la stagione autunno-inverno 2012 hanno chiuso con una nota sensuale e decadente, con la sfilata di Louis Vuitton tenutasi nel cortile interno del Museo del Louvre. L’idea su cui si è basata la collezione è una sorta di “Hotel Vuitton”, un luogo buio, opulento e ambiguo con pavimento laccato nero, cameriere sexy con spolverini di piume e 4 ascensori funzionanti operati da altrettanti portieri in uniforme che aprono le porte alle modelle, alcune delle quali amanettate alle loro borsette (questo si che è feticismo!!). La linea ruota su una femminilità ostentata, con  erotici cinturoni di pelle che legano cappotti di  cashmere, lunghi abiti in pizzo gommato, hotpanmts e stivali di pelle. La sfilata termina con Kate Moss che fuma nervosamente una sigaretta mentre fa il giro della passerella con aria di sfida (la cosa porta a non poche critiche specialmente da parte della stampa inglese e, quindi, molta pubblicità). Personalmente credo che la cosa più scioccante non sia né la sigaretta né tantomeno gli abiti, ma il fatto che, mentre la chiusura della sfilata è stata assegnata a Kate, Naomi Campbell è passata praticamente inosservata calcando la passerella insieme alle altre modelle…a vederla al backsatge sembrava di ottimo umore, ma mi chiedo cosa abbia pensato veramente.  Voi pensate che avrebbe dovuto uscire insieme a Kate, o forse Marc Jacobs sperava in un motivo di tensione ulteriore?
