Fashion is not strictly about clothes, but also about who is going to either praise and promote a collection, or ignore it and therefore make it fall into oblivion. Famous journalists and editors chose carefully what shows they are going to attend, and the more editorial creatures you find at a fashion show, the more success the collection is likely to get. After all, fashion is a business and fashion magazines play a major rule in its promotion. When you get people like Emmanuelle Alt (Vogue Paris), Anna Wintour, Grace Coddington and Andre’ Leon Talley (Vogue America), Suzy Menkes (the Herald Tribune) and Hilary Alexander (The Daily Telegraph) all attending a show…well, it doesn’t get much better than this. This it the front row at Celine fashion show in Paris, wouldn’t you like to be sitting among them?
…what do you think about Andre’ Leon Tally and his Louis Vuitton coat (and matching document carrier)?
